As of 2014, we are officially back in Seattle after an awesome 3 1/2 year adventure. We hope to do it all again in the future! A huge thank you to all our friends, family, and strangers who gave us support and followed along in our antics.
We intend to have our Spot update Google Maps so you can follow us across the world. Note: This is not our exact route, but just the general direction we plan on going. Then again, these plans can change quickly once we are out there!
Here is a link to our Spot Tracker page.
Note: Don’t freak out if we don’t show up for a few days. This is still an electronic device that is unproven for how we are using it. Also, it relies on a private satellite system for tracking, and there is not world-wide coverage, so while it should work well near the coasts, we know it will STOP reporting in when we head to the south pacific and will not start working again until we get close to New Zealand. This is normal and expected.
When Spot stops working, you can also track us via YOTREPS. We will try and send a position report to this service once a day, though we may occasioanlly miss a report if the radio is noisy that day. The link to see our position here is:
We do have an EPIRB in case something really goes wrong, the spot is more of a toy to help you know exactly where we are!
